KAUST Research Conference on Advanced materials for energy-efficient separations: Addressing Vision 2030 and beyond is aimed at providing an exceptional forum for top scientists to discuss high-impact research topics related to advanced materials science with specific emphasis on potential solutions for energy-intensive separations in the context of energy security and environmental sustainability.
The topics of the conference will focus on recent developments pertaining to the use of membranes and porous materials in KAUST’s core research thrusts of Energy and Environment, whilst the sessions will be organized around the following topics:
The AMPM center focuses to develop cutting edge porous materials, synthetic membranes, and process technologies. This relates to our mission to substantially reduce costs and mitigate the environmental damage associated with the separation, purification, and conversion of petroleum & industrial commodities; activities which currently consume 45-55% of the global industrial energy.
We seek to achieve our mission by combining the expertise of both membranes and porous solids scientists; which itself makes us a unique center in the world.
The event is organized by the Advanced Membranes and Porous Materials (AMPM) Center with financial support from the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) Office of Sponsored Research (OSR).
