Lidietta Giorno Research Director at the Institute on Membrane Technology of the National Research Council of Italy, CNR-ITM. She served as The Director of the Institute from May 2009 till February 2019. 
She is an expert in membrane science and membrane bioengineering, with a particular focus on biohybrid, bioinspired, nanostructured membranes. 
She was awarded The International Awards "Guido Dorso" for Research in 2011 and the Sapio Red Carpet Award in 2016. 
She has served on the European Membrane Society Council as the President of the EMS Council and has been an Honorary Member of the EMS since 2014. 
Lidietta Giorno is co-author of over 250 peer-reviewed papers. 
She is Editor of the Journal of Membrane Science since January 2020.
