Biography

Prof. Dr. J. Caro studied chemistry and worked after PhD at the Academy of Sciences in Berlin in different positions. After German re-unification, Caro was co-founder of the Institute of Applied Chemistry. In 2000 Caro was appointed as professor for physical chemistry at Leibniz University Hannover. He is author of more than 400 publications, 11 book chapters and books, 42 patents, h-factor > 90. Ostwald Medal in 2013, Breck Award in 2013 together with M. Tsapatsis. Member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences and Humanities since 2016. Guest Professor at Chinese Academy of Sciences, Visiting Professor at Dalian Technical University. Since 2018 Full Professor at South China University of Technology, Guangzhou. In 2020 Eni Award for "Advanced Environmental Solutions" together with J. Kärger (Univ. Leipzig). In 2021 and 2022, Caro became one of the most cited top-scientists for the last 10 years due to Clarivate.
