AMPM alumni, Dr. Nasser Alaslai and Dr. Dalal Alezi, were recently featured on SBC, a new Saudi TV channel. The documentary is focused on Saudi talented young people.
Nasser Alaslai defended his thesis entitled 'Hydroxyl-Containing Aromatic Polyimides for Carbon Dioxide Removal from Natural Gas' under the supervision of
Prof. Ingo Pinnau. Saudi Aramco supported him, after 10 years' work experience, to join Advanced Membranes and Porous Materials (AMPM) Center to undertake graduate research into an important industry problem: removal of carbon dioxide (CO2) from natural gas which comes out of the ground as a mixture of valuable methane with nitrogen, carbon dioxide, water, hydrogen sulphide and other contaminants.
Dalal Alezi obtained her Ph.D. in Physical Science and Engineering (PSE) Division supervised by Mohamed Eddaoudi, Director of AMPM Center and Professor of Chemical Science. Dalal researched novel Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), an emerging class of functional porous materials, exploring their sorption properties for gas separation and storage applications. From this work, she has three lead author papers published in the Journal of American Chemical Society (JACS). Dr. Dalal currently works as Assistant Professor at King Abdulaziz University (KAU).
We feel very proud of our students, as their accomplishment is the result of long years of hard work, effort and dedication. Thank you for your valuable contribution to AMPM Center mission and vision.
