Zain Ali, a research scientist from Professor Ingo Pinnau’s group, recently spoke to us to discuss his career in science, his journey at KAUST, maintaining a healthy work-life balance, and his deep love for both his research and his family. 

Before joining KAUST in 2014, Zain, originally from Pakistan, completed his master’s and bachelor’s degrees at the University of Birmingham, U.K. His academic journey at KAUST has seen him transition from a Ph.D. student to a postdoctoral fellow to his latest role as a research scientist passionately pursuing leading-edge research in membrane science.
